Vanessa Jenray brings over two decades of dedicated experience to Trusler Legal PLLC as a family law litigation paralegal. A Smithville, Texas native now residing in Buda, Vanessa earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Psychology from Texas State University. Her legal career began during college with an internship in civil litigation and capital criminal defense before she found her true calling in family law upon moving to Austin after graduation in 2003.
In 2024, Vanessa achieved Board Certification in Family Law through the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, marking a significant professional milestone. She maintains active memberships in the National Association of Legal Assistants, the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas, and the Capital Area Paralegal Association. Vanessa particularly thrives in courtroom litigation and regularly pursues continuing education opportunities to enhance her expertise.
What drives Vanessa in her work is the opportunity to connect with clients during challenging life transitions and guide them toward resolution. She finds deep fulfillment in helping people navigate difficult circumstances and witnessing their journey to a new chapter.
Away from the office, Vanessa embraces life with her wife, three young children, and beloved cats. Her leisure pursuits include quilting, kayaking, camping, hiking, gardening, swimming, and photography-all reflecting her appreciation for creativity and the outdoors. She’s an enthusiastic road-tripper with a special fondness for exploring National Parks.
Vanessa actively contributes to her community as Band Booster President for her children’s high school band and guard program and volunteers with PTA events. Her passion for music education stems from her belief in its transformative impact on young people.
Drawing inspiration from Helen Keller’s perseverance and the optimistic outlook portrayed in Forrest Gump, Vanessa approaches both professional challenges and personal adventures with determination and a positive perspective.
